Description
This is an introduction to Communication Protocols, Client/Server Model, TCP/IP Stack, Network Interface Cards (NIC), Hubs, Switches, and Routers. At the end of this course, you will be able to connect computers for sharing resources such as printers, internet, and storage. You will understand how the Internet works, and be able to perform basic troubleshooting of Local Area Networks (LAN) at home, home office, or small business.
This course does not cover programming network devices using Cisco Internetwork Operating System (IOS). Although, it covers basic programming of home office Routers such as LinkSys-by-Cisco. It is meant to build a foundation should you decide to pursue a CCNA at a Cisco Network Academy, or a college career in Computer Science.
Prerequisite
You should have already taken Algebra, and be in High School K9-K12.
